What is PVPanel?

PVPanel is a multi-timeframes direction panel where you can read directions from all timeframes easily.

You'll instantly know where price will go in the bigger timeframes, and the cool thing is that your chart will stay clean and uncluttered because important levels and zones will only be shown in the panel on the right side.

If you trade a short timeframe (M1, M5) like me, you'll free yourself from the "tunnel vision" problem and have clear information where is the next important level or zone that will mess up with your trade.

After you've done your top-down analysis, you just need to sit back and relax, set some alerts with PVAlerter and wait for the call. When it's arrived, you can focus entirely on the current Price Action in a clean and undisturbed environment.

You know where it's going in the higher timeframes and if the low timeframe is already flowing with that bigger direction.

When your trade signal is there, you'll trade it with maximum confidence because you know where it's going and where it's gonna hit the first trouble area!

Overview

PVPanel will dwell on the right side of your chart, about 38 candlesticks wide. It's recommended to have a minimum 1366 x 768 screen or much better if you have a full HD screen so the panel won't take too many pixels on your screen.

There are 3 panels in PVPanel:

  • Scalp Panel
  • Intraday Panel
  • Swing Panel

Depending on your trading style, you can choose to show all of them, or just select the one you really need.

For example, because I'm a scalper/short term intraday trader, I don't really need the swing panel. So I can disable swing panel and only use the scalp and intraday panels.

But if you are a long term trader, you might feel a scalp panel is too much to handle. So you can disable it easily in the properties. I'll explain them in detail at the Properties section below.

For now, let's understand where these lines are coming from and how to read them.

For all levels and zones drawn on your chart using PVLine and PVZone, it will be automatically displayed in the PVPanel. To delete them, just erase your level or zone and the line/box inside the panel will be erased as well.

And for direction, you can assign a trend direction indicator (indicated by arrow up or down). For example, price is currently bouncing off the strong support you've drawn in your chart.

Now, for the classic rules of Support and Resistance trading, if price departed from support, it will seek for the nearest resistance of that timeframe as the target.

By using the PVPanel feature, you can mark the support level with "arrow up" to give you quick information that the trend in this timeframe is up and moving toward resistance.

To draw the arrow, like usual, hold SHIFT button, but now you are not clicking the chart, but on the info text of the support.

If the level is above Bid price, it will show "arrow down". If it's below Bid price, you'll get an "arrow up"

Let's say it's a D1 trend, and price is just bouncing off the area with a nice Bullish engulfing pattern in H4. If you are trading the price action in M15, it wouldn't be wise to sell short on the M15 sell signal.

You'll wait until M15 shows you a signal that is in alignment with H4 and D1 directions. At that time, you can go for it with maximum potential at the nearest D1 resistance. That's the highest probability trade you can grab!

(Please consult to your own trading system, above is just an example)

PVPanel Properties

The PVPanel properties is the longest one, but the three panels properties are identical. They have their own value to set so that we can have a different color combination to beautify the panel.

In the PVPro Unlimited version, you'll get 10 beautiful presets for styling the panel. If you are up for the challenge, you can colorize it to your liking manually.

Now, let me guide you through the properties so you'll know what's their functions.

PVPanel Offset

This is the offset of the entire PVPanel. The default is 30, but I suggest to not use more than 30 because the width of the panel will become funny (because of MT4 limitation).

PVLine Level Thickness

You can control the thickness of the line inside the panel if you think the default one is too thin. Just set it to 3 or more (up to 5) and you'll get a thicker PVLine in the panel.

PVPanel Current Price Level

This is a handy little function to show you price position in the panel. If you don't have a grid color in your MT4 (Grid color set to NONE), you won't know where price is. So by activating this function, you'll see an arrow and a horizontal line appear in the panel. You can also customize the line color if you don't like the default one.

PVPanel Timeframe Highlighter

In case you need to know which timeframe you are using right now, within the PVPanel, this "highlighter" properties will show you the way.

You can use the default panel vertical border color, or you can use custom one. And if it's not pop up for you, you can increase the thickness of the line, like this:

Group Panels Properties

This three group of panels share the same property names, but they have different values. Let's have a look at them one by one:

  • The "Show Swing/Intraday/Scalp Panel" property: you can use it to display or hide the panel itself. Set them all to false if you want to disable PVPanel.
  • Panel Offset: This one is the offset of the group panels.
  • Panel Color: The background color of the panel, if Fill panel set to false, it will be the border color of the group panel.
  • Fill Panel? : Fill the panel with background color or not.
  • Panel Line Style: If "Fill panel?" is set to false, you can use this to style the panel's border.
  • Panel Line Width: If "Fill panel?" is set to false, you can adjust the line width with this.
  • Vertical Border Color: This is the border that separate each Timeframe. Adjust the color in this property.
  • Vertical Border Style: Set the style of the timeframe border
  • Color for PVLine in Panel: The color for PVLine in panel, set it with contrast color to the panel background color.
  • Color for PVZone in Panel: The color for PVZone in panel, it won't affect the Supply or Demand color in the chart.
